Good Morning Mr. Dolland and Wife Denise,
I participated in the SAY conference and I really want to say thank you with a lot of gratitude. The conference felt like a gift. From the time I received the email for the conference and reviewed the material, I realised that it would be a professionally run event. I decided to try it for the first night and take it from there. I paid a baby sitter and attended all three evenings. Today I’m a bit tired, but if it went on for the rest of the week I would be there.
On day two, on pain of friendship, I coerced one of my girlfriends into coming. She was unwell but she did. At the end of the night she was feeling better and was grateful that she had come. She told me it was the best things that she had done in years and that it felt like an extra special gift.
Speaking with some of my colleagues today at work who attended the conference, they all expressed the same opinion: the conference was a gift, and they want to spread the message to young people everywhere while using it to empower themselves. Interestingly, everyone, including myself, indicated that they went home and had deep peaceful sleep for the three nights.
I have attended many such conferences etc. with similar content but SAY had just the right mix and balance of speakers following on from each other so that the information literally became mind blowing.
My girlfriends and I can relate and counsel each other much better now. We have already begun to do it. My young adult daughter and her friends who attended will hopefully avoid pitfalls that I jumped into as a woman. I see the application of the principles learnt in my everyday interaction especially at work and home.
My sincerest thanks and appreciation go to the dynamic Ms. Gibbs, to Dr. Edward Clarke who didn’t quibble with the facts and to the Wonderful duo Mr. and Mrs. James. They are all our cup of sugar. Blessings to the sponsors, especially Spice Basket and the Decatur SDA Church in Georgia.
I look forward to Living a Legacy and being a M.O.D.E.L. and mentor for up and coming young women.
God bless you. Keep blessing others, keep sharing, keep motivating.
See you next year.
